PREPRANK PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: August 15, 2026 Last Updated: August 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PrepRank, LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company (“PrepRank,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, retains, and discloses information when you use the prep-rank.com and www.prep-rank.com websites, the PrepRank mobile applications for iOS and Android, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Plain-English summary: We collect the minimum we need to run a sports rankings and predictions app — your account info, the teams and schools you follow, payment information if you subscribe, and standard device data. We do not sell your personal information, we do not run targeted or behavioral advertising, and we do not permit children under 13 to create accounts.
1. Children Under 13 (COPPA Notice)
The Service is intended for users age 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Account creation requires date-of-birth entry through a neutral age screen. Users identifying as under 13 are blocked from creating an account, and we do not retain the information entered during a blocked registration attempt.
If we learn that a user under 13 has created an account or that we have otherwise collected personal information from a child under 13, we will suspend the account and delete the personal information promptly, and in any event within 30 days.
Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to the Service should contact us at privacy@prep-rank.com. We will confirm deletion upon completion.
Users age 13 to 17 should use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. See our Terms of Service for eligibility requirements.
2. Information About Student-Athletes (Read This If You Are a Parent, Athlete, or School)
The Service publishes sports information about Louisiana high school teams and student-athletes — such as rosters, jersey numbers, positions, graduation years, game statistics, schedules, and team power ratings. This information is compiled from publicly available sources, data published or licensed by the LHSAA or its partners, licensed data providers, and information submitted by coaches or team representatives. It is published as sports news and statistical coverage, in the same manner as newspaper box scores and rankings coverage.
This is information about athletes obtained from third-party sources; it is not personal information collected online from the athletes themselves, and athletes do not need an account for their public sports statistics to appear in the Service.
Corrections and removal requests: A student-athlete, parent or legal guardian, or school administrator may request correction of inaccurate information, or removal of a student-athlete’s individual profile information (such as height and weight), by emailing privacy@prep-rank.com with the school, sport, and athlete name. We will respond within 10 business days. Team-level results, scores, and official power rating data are matters of public sporting record and are not subject to removal.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide
| Category | Examples | Required? |
| Account information | Name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), date of birth (used for age screening; we retain only your birth year), and an optional display name (handle) shown on leaderboards | Yes, for an account |
| Preferences | Teams, schools, sports, and athletes you choose to follow; notification settings | Optional |
| Contest entries | Pick'em selections. Leaderboards display your chosen display name or, if you do not choose one, a neutral generated label — never your real name. School leaderboards are derived from the team you follow, not from any school affiliation you provide | Optional |
| Payment information | Handled by our payment processors (Stripe on the web; Apple App Store and Google Play in the apps). We receive subscription status and a customer/transaction identifier. We never receive or store full card numbers. | Only if you subscribe |
| Communications | Messages you send to support, correction/removal requests | Optional |
3.2 Information collected automatically
| Category | Examples |
| Device and app data | Device type and operating system, app version, language, IP address, general region derived from IP |
| Identifiers | Push notification token (if you enable notifications), a randomly generated app instance identifier |
| Usage data | Screens viewed, features used, crash and performance logs |
Push notifications, usage analytics, and crash reporting may not be active in every version of the Service. We collect the categories in this Section 3.2 only if and when the corresponding feature is enabled in the product.
3.3 What we do NOT collect
We do not collect precise geolocation, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, biometric identifiers, or government-issued identifiers. We do not collect the mobile advertising identifier (IDFA / Android Advertising ID), and our apps do not include third-party advertising or ad-attribution SDKs.
4. How We Use Information
Provide and operate the Service: accounts, rankings, predictions, followed-team dashboards, and leaderboards.
Send push notifications you have enabled (for example, score and ranking-change alerts). You can turn these off at any time in the app or device settings.
Process subscriptions and manage billing through our payment processors.
Display sponsorships contextually. Sponsor placements are based on the page, contest, school zone, or sport being viewed — never on behavioral profiles of individual users. We do not serve targeted or interest-based advertising.
Maintain safety and security: authentication, fraud and abuse prevention, enforcing our Terms of Service (including anti-scraping protections).
Improve the Service through aggregate analytics; comply with legal obligations; enforce our rights.
We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not disclose personal information to sponsors or advertisers. Sponsors receive only aggregate statistics (for example, total contest entries).
5. How We Share Information
Service providers (processors): cloud hosting and database providers, Stripe (web payments), Apple and Google (in-app purchases), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push delivery), and analytics/crash-reporting providers configured to operate without advertising identifiers. Each is bound to use personal information only to provide services to us.
Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of PrepRank, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy’s commitments.
Aggregate and de-identified data: we may share statistics that cannot reasonably identify you (for example, “40% of users picked St. Paul’s to win”).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws.
6. Data Retention
This section is our public data retention policy. We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, and never indefinitely.
| Data | Retention period | Basis |
| Account information | Life of the account plus 90 days after deletion or closure | Service delivery; recovery window |
| Age-screen result (birth year / flag) | Life of the account | COPPA compliance record |
| Followed teams / preferences | Life of the account | Service delivery |
| Pick'em entries and leaderboard history | Current season plus 12 months, then de-identified | Contest operation and records |
| Push tokens | Until you disable notifications, log out, or uninstall | Notification delivery |
| Payment and transaction records | 7 years | Tax, accounting, and audit requirements |
| Support communications | 24 months after resolution | Service quality and dispute records |
| Analytics and crash logs | 24 months, then deleted or aggregated | Service improvement |
| Information collected from a child under 13 (if discovered) | Deleted promptly, no later than 30 days after discovery | COPPA |
7. Security
We maintain a written information security program with a designated security coordinator, including encryption of data in transit, hashed credential storage, role-based access controls, database row-level security, periodic risk assessments, and vendor oversight. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and regulators as required by applicable law, including the Louisiana Database Security Breach Notification Law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Access, correction, deletion: you may access and update account information in the app, and you may delete your account and associated personal information at any time using the in-app account deletion feature (Account > Delete account) or by emailing privacy@prep-rank.com.
Push notifications: disable in app settings or device settings at any time.
Email: unsubscribe links are included in all non-transactional email.
State privacy rights: residents of certain states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and Virginia) have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of sales, sharing for targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information or engage in targeted advertising, and we honor these access, correction, and deletion rights for all users regardless of residence. We treat universal opt-out signals (such as Global Privacy Control) as valid where required, though we conduct no activity from which to opt out. To exercise rights, email privacy@prep-rank.com; we will verify your request via your account email and respond within 45 days. You may appeal a refusal by replying to our decision, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising rights.
Student-athlete corrections/removal: see Section 2.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may link to third-party websites and services, including the LHSAA, schools, sponsors, and social media platforms. Their privacy practices are their own; this Policy does not apply to them. Sharing a PrepRank card or screenshot to a social platform is governed by that platform’s terms.
10. Users Outside the United States
The Service is operated from the United States and directed to users in the United States, principally Louisiana. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect, and the “Last Updated” date will change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
